Tony Brown is in his nineteenth year as a Director at Mehlville High School with the last six years<br />
as the Director of Bands. His duties include teaching elementary beginners, co-conducting the<br />
second Concert Band, conducting the Symphonic Band, co-coordinating the Marching Band and<br />
designing the drill. Before coming to Mehlville, he was Assistant Director of Bands at Sinton High<br />
School in Sinton, Texas.<br />
Mr. Brown is a native of St. Louis and is a Mehlville High School graduate. During high school Mr.<br />
Brown was a private clarinet student of Dr. Warren Bellis from the University of <strong>Missouri</strong>-St. Louis,<br />
and participated in several honor groups such as the <strong>Missouri</strong> All-State Band. Upon graduation<br />
from Mehlville, he accepted a music scholarship to the University of North Texas. While at North<br />
Texas, Mr. Brown was a Semi-Finalist in the International Clarinet Society Young Artist Concerto<br />
Competition, performed in several woodwind quintets, participated in the Symphonic Band directed<br />
by Dennis Fisher, the Wind Symphony directed by Dr. Robert Winslow and studied clarinet with Dr.<br />
James Gillespie. Mr. Brown received a Master of <strong>Music</strong> Degree from SIU-Edwardsville and a Master<br />
of Education in Secondary Administration from Lindenwood University.<br />
Nicholas Kremer is in his first year as the Assistant Band Director at Mehlville High School. His<br />
duties include working with beginning brass students at Washington Middle School, teaching<br />
music appreciation, conducting the concert band, co-conducting the symphonic band, and<br />
assisting with the Mehlville Marching Band. Before working at Mehlville Mr. Kremer taught at<br />
Clarendon High School, in Clarendon, Arkansas.<br />
Mr. Kremer received a Bachelor of <strong>Music</strong> Education degree and a Masters of <strong>Music</strong> degree from<br />
<strong>Missouri</strong> State University. While at <strong>Missouri</strong> State he participated in the MSU Wind Ensemble,<br />
Wind Symphony, Jazz Band, Marching Band, and Symphonic Band under directors Mr. Jerry<br />
Hoover and Dr. Belva Prather. He studied trumpet privately with Dr. Grant Peters. During his<br />
graduate work, he studied conducting under Dr. Belva Prather and had the opportunity to direct<br />
the MSU Wind Symphony, Concert Band, and Studio Jazz Band.<br />
