Skill-Based Ranking<br />

1. The Skill based ranking shall be an accumulated number determined from the draw to<br />

the button stones for hammer at the conclusion of the pre-game practice.<br />

2. Both team‟s throws will be recorded at all times. If a team removes their stone prior to<br />

measurement the maximum of 185 cms will be allotted to the team.<br />

3. Each team member will be required to deliver a minimum of one (1) draw shot for last<br />

stone advantage. Four different players must participate in the SBR; if a five man team<br />

is declared only four players can participate.<br />

4. In all Championship events, for the first game of an event, if there should be a tie for<br />

last stone both teams shall throw another draw shot by a different player. The first draw<br />

will be added to the accumulated SBR.<br />

5. After the first draw the accumulated SBR will be posted and shall be used to determine<br />

last stone in case of a tie.<br />

6. The accumulated SBR (less the one worst of all attempts will be dropped) will be used<br />

for all tie breaker games.<br />

7. In the case of a tie in the Skill Based Ranking standings the teams tied will drop the<br />

second worst attempt to determine the team‟s placement. If still tied drop the third<br />

worst attempt and so on.<br />

Spare Pool<br />

All Championships will have a spare pool available to the teams. The spare pool is made up of<br />

competitive curlers from the Sport Region that the Championship is held in. Bios of the spares<br />

are available upon request.<br />

NOTE<br />

1. At the discretion of the <strong>Curl<strong>Manitoba</strong></strong> Umpire, teams will be allowed up to one half hour<br />

from the conclusion of their previous game to exercise their choice of last rock and/or<br />

color as outlined in the rules.<br />

2. There will be no ice time provided for selecting rock color or for selecting stones.<br />

3. Where two provincial championship finals are played concurrently in the same venue,<br />

the first event to select stones shall be determined by the Men‟s Championships<br />

choosing first in the odd years and the Women‟s Championships choosing first in the<br />

even years.<br />

4. The <strong>Curl<strong>Manitoba</strong></strong> Event Representative in consultation with the umpire shall decide ice<br />

assignment for tie-breaker(s), and playoff games.<br />

5. During the draw shot for hammer the coaches and fifth players are NOT allowed in the<br />

Ice area.<br />

6. The rock color, rock selection and first end last rock advantage is charted on the next<br />

page.<br />

IN ALL MATTERS CONCERNING ON ICE SITUATIONS, THE FINAL DECISION WILL BE<br />

MADE BY THE HEAD UMPIRE<br />
