YOUTH WINTER BONSPIEL
The Youth Winter Open Spiel will be held December 27-29, 2013.
The divisions and eligibility of the spiel will be:
1) Maximum of 16 (sixteen) teams Under 16 years of age as of December 31, 2013
2) Maximum of 16 (sixteen) teams Under 13 years of age as of December 31, 2013
Rules
1. All team members must reside in Manitoba.
2. All participants in the Under 16 years of age must be 16 years of age or under as of
December 31, 2013. .
3. All participants in the Under 13 years of age must be 13 years of age or under as of
December 31, 2013.
4. Team composition will be open and a team may consist of male, female or any
combination.
5. All games will be 8 ends with a 1 hour and 55 minute bell.
6. The Cresting standards is NOT in effect.
Spares
1. Spares are allowed. Spares must register with the event representative prior to playing.
Spare must meet the age requirements.
2. Following the registration of their four players, should a player be unable to play due to
extenuating circumstances (injury, illness) the team will be permitted to use up to two
eligible spares or have the option of continuing with the remaining three players. A
spare is a temporary player who may play the position of the missing player or lower.
Time Outs
1. Time outs will consist of one 1 minute time out for the first 4 ends, a three minute 4 th
end break and two 1 minute time out for the last 4 ends in all games.
Long Term Athletes Development
Please refer to Long Term Athlete Development section in the Youth Winter Spiel on page 9.
The same format will be emphasized in this event.
