YOUTH WINTER BONSPIEL<br />
The Youth Winter Open Spiel will be held December 27-29, 2013.<br />
The divisions and eligibility of the spiel will be:<br />
1) Maximum of 16 (sixteen) teams Under 16 years of age as of December 31, 2013<br />
2) Maximum of 16 (sixteen) teams Under 13 years of age as of December 31, 2013<br />
Rules<br />
1. All team members must reside in <strong>Manitoba</strong>.<br />
2. All participants in the Under 16 years of age must be 16 years of age or under as of<br />
December 31, 2013. .<br />
3. All participants in the Under 13 years of age must be 13 years of age or under as of<br />
December 31, 2013.<br />
4. Team composition will be open and a team may consist of male, female or any<br />
combination.<br />
5. All games will be 8 ends with a 1 hour and 55 minute bell.<br />
6. The Cresting standards is NOT in effect.<br />
Spares<br />
1. Spares are allowed. Spares must register with the event representative prior to playing.<br />
Spare must meet the age requirements.<br />
2. Following the registration of their four players, should a player be unable to play due to<br />
extenuating circumstances (injury, illness) the team will be permitted to use up to two<br />
eligible spares or have the option of continuing with the remaining three players. A<br />
spare is a temporary player who may play the position of the missing player or lower.<br />
Time Outs<br />
1. Time outs will consist of one 1 minute time out for the first 4 ends, a three minute 4 th<br />
end break and two 1 minute time out for the last 4 ends in all games.<br />
Long Term Athletes Development<br />
Please refer to Long Term Athlete Development section in the Youth Winter Spiel on page 9.<br />
The same format will be emphasized in this event.<br />
