■ Imaging Spatial Resolution Imaging spatial resolution of scanning imagers can be ensured using another procedure that stems from military night vision evaluation protocol and uses the same standard bar target. The procedure measures the modulation transfer function (MTF), a measure of imaging spatial resolution. Modulation is a measure of radiance contrast and is expressed: Modulation = V max –V min V max + V min where: V = the voltage analogue of the instantaneous radiance measured.
