■ Batteries
Procedures for the handling of batteries and their safe disposal must also be
followed by the thermographer. In general these procedures are included in
the safety regulations for each facility. They can also often be found in the
instrument operator's manuals. Generally, instructions for the safe disposal of
batteries are provided in the literature accompanying the batteries. In the
absence of such instructions, exhausted batteries should be considered as
hazardous waste and handled accordingly.
