WHAT ABOUT SUNDAY?<br />
W<br />
ell, what about Sunday worship? Is this right, wrong,<br />
or not an issue? My understanding from my study is<br />
that it is not an issue. It is nei<strong>the</strong>r right nor wrong. It is<br />
always right to worship God, in association with o<strong>the</strong>r<br />
believers as often as possible. In Acts 2:42-47 <strong>the</strong> early<br />
church was in worship everyday. If it were possible, such<br />
daily worship would be ideal. But we have busy lives to lead<br />
that make daily corporate worship impractical. Yet we need<br />
to have times for corporate worship to supplement our daily<br />
experience. We must not neglect corporate worship. (Heb.<br />
10:25) It is not wrong to worship on Saturday and nei<strong>the</strong>r is<br />
it wrong to worship on Sunday, or Wednesday or any o<strong>the</strong>r<br />
day! Keeping a Sabbath for reflection and spiritual growth is<br />
healthy and should be encouraged. But <strong>the</strong> message of <strong>the</strong><br />
<strong>New</strong> Testament, as well as <strong>the</strong> rest of <strong>the</strong> Bible, makes it<br />
clear that <strong>the</strong> day of <strong>the</strong> week on which worship takes place<br />
should not be binding or mandated for Christians. 1<br />
