A plumbing service contracting business with three locations in the Ottawa
area is planning to go national. Founded in 1988, Faucet Fix focused on the
residential fixture service market.
A large, stable and profitable market where the owner had expertise,
superior working conditions over other sectors, and a real opportunity for
long term growth all added up to a successful business, comments founder
Gary Greco.
“We built our business on what we called one-call service. We focused on
this specific market, dispatched customer calls to our service techs and
stocked virtually all parts and fixtures needed in our trucks.
“Simply, we repair and replace faucets, sinks and drains. It’s fast, friendly
and effective service, prompt, expert and priced very competitively. And we
back it up with a two-year warranty …,” he said.
There are three franchisees currently operating in the capital city. Faucet
Fix provides a total business solution for individuals working in this sector of
the plumbing industry.
“We do everything for the franchisee: call screening, dispatch, marketing
and advertising, accounts, payroll, remittances, weekly and monthly financial
reports and tax preparation,” Greco reported. “And we encourage the franchisee
to work just 40 hours a week so they have time for family and other
personal interests.
“We view every household as a potential lifelong customer. Repeat
customers represent almost two-thirds of the existing Faucet Fix
business …,” he noted.
