Latest technologies, full seminar schedule
highlight Canada’s largest HVAC/R show
If visitors to CMX 2004 can count on
one thing, it’s that they are in for a
learning experience during the
three-day show. Not only will over 300
manufacturers display the latest in
HVAC/R technology, but three days of
seminars, workshops and skills demonstrations
will show the contractor and
his employees how to best take advantage
of that technology.
As well, an HVAC/R Heritage Centre
display will give attendees a little history.
And the skills competition will allow
apprentices to show their stuff. Not surprisingly,
the theme of this year’s event
is ‘The Mechanicals Industry – Past,
Present and Future’. CMX 2004 will take
place March 25-27 at the Metro Toronto
Convention Centre in downtown
Toronto.
CMX will offer an opportunity for contractors to talk directly with manufacturers.

Taking centre stage will be the 2004
Skills Canada-Ontario Heating Systems
Technician Competition. Attendees will
see some of the industry’s best young
technicians compete in a test of their
technical HVAC problem-solving skills.
This is the second year that the event
will be held as an official competition,
organized by the Heating Refrigeration
& Air Conditioning Contractors of
Canada (HRAC).
High school students will compete
on Thursday, March 25. Apprentices
will compete on March 26.
Training and education will also be
featured in the extensive Learning
Forum of 40 featured industry-wide
seminars.
Seminar topics include: EnerGuide
for Houses, Energy Star, funding for
manufacturers, integrated HVAC solutions,
commercial HVAC equipment
effectiveness, high rise ventilation and
solar opportunities, high performance
buildings and mechanical systems,
hydronic heating controls and radiant
floor heating systems, R-22 and HCFC
replacements, selling commercial projects
and services, micro co-generation
and many others. Exhibitors will also
conduct seminars related to their areas
of product expertise.
