them, but blended all and affected it into another synthesis with his poetic genius. <strong>Tagore</strong><br />

looked forward to a universal humanity, which is evolving through nationality to fulfill a<br />

spiritual destiny. <strong>Tagore</strong> placed the greatest emphasis on the dignity, freedom and equality<br />

<strong>of</strong> individual and at the same time emphasized the obligation <strong>of</strong> the individual to the human<br />

society. <strong>Rabindranath</strong> <strong>Tagore</strong> wielded his pen with a new stimulating national resurgence<br />

and contributed for the political awakening <strong>of</strong> his countrymen with no identification <strong>of</strong><br />

self with any group <strong>of</strong> active political participants but as a free individual and still remains<br />

as a mighty spreading tree routed to the Indian soil.<br />
