Apromising start to English’s career in 2009 has beenslowed by injury-plagued seasons in 2010 and ’11. Englishwas on the verge of posting big numbers in 2011 when hewas shelved for the second-consecutive season by a brokenfoot.English will have a fresh start in 2012 and is looking forwardto recapturing his rookie form under new defensivecoordinator John Pagano.As a collegian, English was a two-time winner of theVern Smith Leadership Award as the top player in the Mid-American Conference. He became only the second defensiveplayer in MAC history to win the award once and moreimpressively, he became only the fourth player ever to winit twice.
