Congratulations Reg on a most well deservedaward.Recruitment and retention remain an important priority andthe Zone continues to provide leadership and investment inprogrammes designed to encourage new bowlers to take upthe sport. Whilst such activities have only met with limitedsuccess to date it is important that, as administrators, wekeep chipping away in an endeavour to reverse the decliningtrend that has plagued our sport over a number of years. Ourtarget market remains spread across all age groups.Regretfully our U-18 numbers have reached a critical level andparticular attention is currently being devoted by our U-18Manager Garry MacFadyen and Kristy Flaxman on behalf ofthe Central Coast Institute of Sport to stimulate renewedinterest within our schools. Our website and the exclusive use of electronic mail reflectthe changing values of our society. Geoff Graham, ourwebsite manager, has provided invaluable leadership in thisarea and spent an enormous amount of time converting ourwebsite over to the free services of Sporting Pulse. We canproudly boast that we have one of the most user-friendlywebsites especially the unique table for presenting Pennantresults and progressive point scores. In conclusion, we acknowledge all those volunteers at cluband Zone level be they coaches, umpires, selectors, bowlscoordinators, club committeemen, side managers, BBQ cooksor raffle ticket sellers, who work tirelessly to make the sportof lawn bowls so enjoyable for so many.2011 Zone 15 BCiB State PennantsGrade Winner Runner Up1 Ettalong Memorial Avoca Beach2 Halekulani The Greens The Entrance3 Ettalong Memorial Wyong4 Woy Woy Ettalong Memorial5 Ourimbah Lisarow Ettalong Memorial6 Halekulani Woy Woy7 Woy Woy Ettalong MemorialBowls NSW, 2011-12 Annual Report & Year Book Page 37
