2.3.2.1.6 Concentrate DisposalResiduals handling at the Venice Gardens WTF includes the disposal of RO concentrate.The concentrate is pumped into an onsite permitted deep injection well. The deep injectionwell is approximately 1700 feet deep and discharges high TDS concentration water into aconfined layer deep beneath the earth’s surface. Flow to the deep injection well iscontinuously monitored. The Venice Gardens RO WTF DIW permit requires a maximumsustained pressure of 36 pounds per square inch at the wellhead and a peak flow of 1.86mgd (1292 gpm). The WTF is not equipped with a backup concentrate disposal method.2.3.2.2 Treated Water Storage and DeliveryThe Venice Gardens WTF contains 3 covered ground storage tanks with a total storagecapacity of 5 MG. Two of the tanks existed prior to the 2002 upgrade. The third storagetank was constructed from 2004 to 2005 and is in stages of final completion. All tanks areinterconnected with valving to provide transfer between and utilization of any combination oftanks.Recently, a new high service pumping station was installed, which supplies water tosouthern portions of the County. The new high service pumping station is comprised ofthree 100-hp high service pumps operated with VFDs.2.3.2.3 Finished Water QualityFinished water quality data were tabulated for the Venice Gardens WTF. The facility has arelatively consistent effluent water quality.
