PalasiaedSummary:Corrosion of condensers is a major problem which the electric power industry of Iranconfronts with. Condenser failures and in-leakage result in power outrage or powergeneration limitation. Also the expense of repair of condenser and other componentsthat maybe damaged by in-leakage can be prohibitively high. Corrosion is due tounsatisfactory operation or unsuitable initial design. Water chemistry cooling watercomposition, velocity, temperature and alloy type are the main factors influencingcorrosion behavior of condensers. In order to determine the root cause of corrosion inexisting condensers and prevent corrosion problems in future projects, it is necessary todetermine the corrosion behavior of condenser alloys in cooling waters used in steampower plants. The result can be useful in materials selection for condensers whichrequire retubing and also for condensers of future projects.Corrosion inhibitors and cathodic protection can also be used to minimize corrosionfailures. In the present work, electrochemical techniques are used to evaluate thecorrosion behavior of condenser tube alloys in three type of cooling water used in Iranpower plants experiments to determine alloys corrosion rate in various temperature,velocities, pHs, and dissolved oxygen content.View of Constructed Pilot61
