Fairbanks Gold Mining Inc. and Kinross TechnicalServices staff developed the 2007 model reserve and resource methodology.Diligent care has been taken in the preparation of this report and the authors areconfident about the accuracy of supporting studies not prepared under their directsupervision. While the authors did not supervise the preparation of reports relating toreserve estimation techniques prior to 2004, geotechnical studies, or any drilling andassaying prior to 2004, they have examined the reports and supporting data and haveconcluded that the information, conclusions and recommendations are reasonable.Accordingly, the authors are confident that report recommendations and conclusions aresuitable for use in the preparation of the appropriate sections of this report.3.2 Independent AuditRoscoe Postle Associates Inc. (RPA) was retained by Kinross Gold Corporation toindependently audit the December 31, 2004 Mineral Resource and Mineral Reserveestimates of the Fort Knox operation. RPA did not identify any significant “fatal flaws” inthe Fort Knox resource and given the knowledge and understanding that FGMI hasaccumulated with the operation, RPA expects that the Fort Knox Proven and ProbableMineral Reserves will likely represent a reasonable global estimate of the total in-situgold reserves.14
