instructor. Faculty field liaisons provide both an administrative function and an instructionalfunction for the Foundation Field Program. General roles and tasks are to:1. Implement the syllabus (Appendix A) and to ensure learningcompetencies/practice behaviors are demonstrated2. Monitor working relationships with the field instructor and agency3. Facilitate and problem solve, when indicated, the supervisory relationshipbetween the student and the field instructor4. Consult with the field education faculty5. Provide clear guidance and assistance to new field instructors to ensureunderstanding of curricula6. Monitor worksite placements to competencies/practice behaviors are beingdemonstratedSpecific Administrative TasksSpecific administrative tasks for the foundation field faculty liaison are as follows:1. Maintain student file for learning plans and evaluations (forms are foundin appendix A)2. Establish contact with field instructor during first week of the semester3. Review and make approvals to the learning plan no later than week three4. Conduct an on-site visit for the mid-term evaluation between weeks 6-9.Suggested questions for mid-term visit can be found on page 66.5. Meet individually with each student during weeks 13-15 to evaluatelearning in the field, and to listen and provide feedback on student’s selfassessment.Alternatively, instructors may elect to have students completea self assessment and growth paper to capture the same information.Questions to guide the student’s written self-assessment can be found inAppendix A (page 77-oral, page 78-written).6. Conduct telephone conference (or on site visit) with student and fieldinstructor for the final evaluation7. Provide feedback to field faculty about any concerns to assist withappropriate future placements.37
