10.4 Licens<strong>in</strong>g<br />

Licens<strong>in</strong>g requirements apply <strong>in</strong> some <strong>in</strong>dustries. On successful completion of a tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g contract, the apprentice or<br />

tra<strong>in</strong>ee should apply for any licence that is required <strong>to</strong> work <strong>in</strong> the <strong>in</strong>dustry. For further <strong>in</strong>formation about licens<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong><br />

the construction, au<strong>to</strong>motive <strong>and</strong> electrical <strong>in</strong>dustries contact your local office of the <strong>NSW</strong> Department of Fair Trad<strong>in</strong>g<br />

or visit its website at http://www.dft.nsw.gov.au. The Department of Fair Trad<strong>in</strong>g adm<strong>in</strong>isters licens<strong>in</strong>g for the follow<strong>in</strong>g<br />

trades:<br />

• air condition<strong>in</strong>g <strong>and</strong> refrigeration<br />

• electrical<br />

• carpentry <strong>and</strong> jo<strong>in</strong>ery<br />

• bricklay<strong>in</strong>g<br />

• floor <strong>and</strong> wall til<strong>in</strong>g<br />

• glaz<strong>in</strong>g<br />

• pa<strong>in</strong>t<strong>in</strong>g <strong>and</strong> decorat<strong>in</strong>g<br />

• l<strong>and</strong>scap<strong>in</strong>g<br />

• plumb<strong>in</strong>g, gasfitt<strong>in</strong>g <strong>and</strong> dra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g.<br />
