When the apprenticeship/tra<strong>in</strong>eeship is near<strong>in</strong>g completion:<br />

• State Tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g Services will send a completion letter <strong>to</strong> the employer.<br />

• The employer must sign the letter <strong>and</strong> return it <strong>to</strong> State Tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g Services, confirm<strong>in</strong>g whether or not the<br />

apprentice/tra<strong>in</strong>ee has successfully completed the on-the-job <strong>and</strong> formal tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g. The letter must be<br />

accompanied by a copy of the Certificate, Statement of Atta<strong>in</strong>ment or transcript of results issued <strong>to</strong> the<br />

apprentice/tra<strong>in</strong>ee by the registered tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g organisation. If the apprentice/tra<strong>in</strong>ee did not successfully complete<br />

formal tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g, the letter must be returned <strong>to</strong> State Tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g Services without attachments. If more time is<br />

needed <strong>to</strong> complete the apprenticeship or tra<strong>in</strong>eeship the employer <strong>and</strong> learner should contact State Tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g<br />

Services immediately <strong>to</strong> arrange an extension.<br />

• The employer <strong>and</strong> apprentice/tra<strong>in</strong>ee may jo<strong>in</strong>tly apply for completion of the apprenticeship or tra<strong>in</strong>eeship<br />

before the scheduled completion date provid<strong>in</strong>g that the apprentice or tra<strong>in</strong>ee has been issued with their<br />

qualification by the RTO <strong>and</strong> the employer considers that they are competent <strong>to</strong> <strong>in</strong>dustry st<strong>and</strong>ard.<br />

• Ensure that the apprentice/tra<strong>in</strong>ee receives his/her certificate.<br />

• Advise their apprentice <strong>to</strong> apply for a licence if required by the <strong>in</strong>dustry <strong>in</strong> which they work. More <strong>in</strong>formation<br />

regard<strong>in</strong>g licens<strong>in</strong>g is available <strong>in</strong> Section 10.4.<br />

• Check with their AAC <strong>to</strong> see if they are entitled <strong>to</strong> any <strong>in</strong>centive payments that may be available at the<br />

completion of the apprenticeship/tra<strong>in</strong>eeship.<br />
