He later completed graduate work at the <strong>University</strong> <strong>of</strong> North Texas in jazz studies,where he was a trombonist with the program's renowned One O'Clock Lab Band. In 2002, he completedhis doctoral degree in ethnomusicology (Ph.D.) at the <strong>University</strong> <strong>of</strong> Pittsburgh, where his researchinterests included jazz and African American music. He received a master <strong>of</strong> music and doctor <strong>of</strong> musical arts from the Tchaikowsky <strong>State</strong>Conservatory in Moscow, and an artist diploma from the New England Conservatory. Bagratuni hasperformed with major orchestras <strong>of</strong> the former Soviet Union, including the Moscow Philharmonic and theArmenian Philharmonic and many others. Berlinsky has performed with major orchestras in Europe,Russia, Asia, and North and South America. He has presented recitals and concerts in more than 40 U.S.states, in addition to Australia, Mexico, Korea, the Czech Republic, Uruguay, Belgium, France, Russia,Canada, Japan, Taiwan, Guatemala, Peru, and Italy.
