INSTRUMENTS FOR CLASS INSTRUMENT COURSESInstruments are available for loan to students enrolled in class instrument courses. These areconsignment instruments provided by various manufacturers. Students are eligible to receive aconsignment instrument loan if:They do not own or have access to that type <strong>of</strong> instrument.- AND -No other holds or limitations have been placed on the student for instrument check out.Students must check out/in consignment instruments as a class.Arrangements must be made by the pr<strong>of</strong>essor <strong>of</strong> the class with Instrument Inventory managers.The Instrument Inventory Office is 16 <strong>Music</strong> Building. Other contact information/arrangementsmay be obtained from the Band Office (116 <strong>Music</strong> Building: 517-355-7564).COLLEGE OF MUSIC-OWNED INSTRUMENT USE POLICYAll registered music students and students in <strong>of</strong>ficial <strong>College</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Music</strong> ensembles are eligible toreceive a loan for instruments if:They do not own or have access to that type <strong>of</strong> instrument and need to use one for a <strong>College</strong> <strong>of</strong><strong>Music</strong> function.- AND -The Instrument Inventory Office has an appropriate instrument available at their enrollmentlevel.- AND -They wish to borrow the instrument for a limited period <strong>of</strong> time (1 semester or less) or the cost <strong>of</strong>purchasing one independently is prohibitive.- AND -No other holds or limitations have been placed on the student for instrument check out.Students must check out/in <strong>College</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Music</strong> instruments from the Instrument Inventory Office(16 <strong>Music</strong> Building) during a scheduled appointment.Appointments are currently scheduled by the Band Office by phone (517-355-7654) or by walkin(116 <strong>Music</strong> Building).MUSIC LIBRARYThe Fine Arts <strong>Music</strong> Library contains music scores, books, recordings, periodicals, and referenceworks. Emphasis is on classical music, with strong collections in jazz and ethnomusicology.Recordings can be used in-house or checked out for one week. Most other materials circulate forlonger periods. Assigned reading/listening for music and music-related classes is at the Fine ArtsReference Desk. Circulation for these course reserve items is for two hours, no overnightcheckout. Request material by pr<strong>of</strong>essor's last name.
