FACILITIES AND OPERATIONSBUILDING HOURSThe <strong>Music</strong> Building and the <strong>Music</strong> Practice Building are open:M-F 7:00 AM-12:00AMSat 7:00 AM-11:00 PMSun 8:00 AM-11:00 PMPUBLIC SAFETYThe music facility is provided police services by the Department <strong>of</strong> Police and PublicSafety. DPPS provides for a safe, welcome, and orderly campus environment for<strong>Michigan</strong> <strong>State</strong> <strong>University</strong> students, faculty, and visitors. In addition to the emergencynumber (911) the DPPS can be reached via the following:<strong>MSU</strong> Police Service Desk = 517-355-2222<strong>MSU</strong> Police Investigations = 517-432-0842For parking information and questions:parkinfo@dpps.msu.eduFor general questions and information:info@dpps.msu.eduPRACTICE ROOMSPractice rooms in the <strong>Music</strong> Building and the <strong>Music</strong> Practice Building are available to enrolledstudents during building hours (see above). Private teaching in these rooms is not allowed.There are several practice rooms reserved for piano practice by music majors whose primaryinstrument is piano. See the chair <strong>of</strong> the piano area to obtain access to them.There is a 15-minute vacancy limit. If a student is absent from a practice room for more than 15minutes-whether or not personal belongings remain in the room-that room may be taken byanother student.Important-do not leave valuables (including instruments) unattended at any time in practicerooms or anywhere in the <strong>College</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Music</strong>. Personally-owned instruments are not insuredthrough <strong>MSU</strong>. Students may want to check with their homeowners provider for information oncoverage for instruments “away from premises.” In some cases, it may be possible or desirableto purchase through parents’ homeowner’s insurance a rider that will cover an expensive musicalinstrument while it is away from home.LOST AND FOUNDLost and Found is located in the Main Office <strong>of</strong> the <strong>College</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Music</strong> in room 102 <strong>Music</strong>Building.LOCKERS-RULES AND FEESLockers are <strong>University</strong> property rented to students for $20.00 (non-refundable), while in the<strong>College</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Music</strong>. These lockers are for your convenience. All lockers are issued on a firstservebasis. However, music majors get first preference over non-music majors.27
