She has also performed with the New York City Opera and the PittsburghSymphony Orchestra. A graduate of the Juilliard School, she studied with Susanne McDonald (ArtisticDirector of the World Harp Congress). Masri-Fletcher has received numerous awards and honors,including first place in the Ruth Lorraine Close Fellowship for Harp, and was a soloist on the YoungArtists Roster of the American Harp Society (AHS). She has appeared as soloist with the DSOperforming Ravel’s Introduction and Allegro for harp, string quartet, flute and clarinet with Neeme Järviconducting, and Mozart’s Concerto for Flute and Harp with Principal Flutist Ervin Monroe, and hasreleased a compact disc with Mr. Monroe entitled, After A Dream..., which features works for flute andharp arranged by the two artists.Walter Verdehr, Professor of ViolinWalter Verdehr received a Diploma from the Hochschule fur Music (Vienna), and a Doctor of MusicalArts from the Juilliard School of Music. Verdehr is recipient of a Fulbright Fellowship, the MSUTeacher-Scholar Award the Dean's Council Apollo Award, and the MSU Distinguished Faculty Award.He has made annual tours and masterclasses in the United States and Europe with the Verdehr Trio, aswell as tours in Australia, China, Russia, Turkey. For many years Wang was the music director of the RenaudChamber Orchestra and concertmaster of the Greater Lansing Symphony Orchestra. His violin studentscan be found in major orchestras and/or teaching in universities here and abroad. Wang attended theCurtis Institute.
