But we rejoice in what God has donein forming a ‘people for his own possession’. Our vision is to bea ‘city on a hill’. 64City On A Hill was an ITV documentary on us and was a fairrepresentation of where we stood. ‘Of course some will misunderstandand oppose us,’ said Noel at the end, ‘but we believeour testimony will win through!’As the year came to a close I was needed back at the Hall.I left Living Stones with tears: Kelly, the hero, and Norma;the brothers who were my friends; the graceful sisters; theirreplaceable Verna; Goldy, the very senile dog; Snowy, themore approachable cat; the ducks, the geese, the memories.I wrote a farewell hymn:How rich these years in which we spendOur lives in mutual love entwined;Such gracious times are rarely found,But here, on Holy Zion’s ground.Zion was precious indeed. But her peace was coming to anend, and a valley of humiliation lay ahead.206
