FIRE IN OUR HEARTSNEW GENERATIONGod was working fast in the UK. Was our gospel net ready?Were we geared for growth? We wanted passion and powerbut needed structures; wineskins that neither restricted norwasted the wine. We believed in the dynamics of revival, withspiritual anointings being worked out in fruitful activity. God’sgoal was to reap the harvest.Our profile to date was this: one national body, co-ordinatedcentrally and motivated by 18 senior men — one vision, onearmy, and one united church. This consisted of 75 churchhouseholds scattered throughout the UK and led by 200 or sopastors and their trainees. In all 2,000 members and friendsgathered regularly for our large Jesus Army celebrations.Central Offices included Enquiries, Communications, Resourcesand a new Church Growth Department. We distributed25,000 magazines and 100,000 streetpapers every quarteras well as See You!, a guide to the 14 Jesus Fellowshipcongregations and 8 other Multiply partners in the UK. Wealso had a colourful web site on the Internet.Evangelism included regular household activity plus thecentrally motivated Ignition, EDP, marquee and coach campaigns.Then there were multimedia productions like the recent‘Hot People’.Strategies for training and nurturing people were firmly inplace as mature brothers and sisters went about fatheringand mothering a new generation. Community houses, withtheir raw, hands-on experience of living together gave extraopportunities for growth in grace — for us all!Cell groups, ‘Agape’ love-feasts and household meetingswere weekly features and there were slots in our programme399
