The company is a memberof the National Hardwood LumberAssoc., Western Hardwood Assoc., LosAngeles Hardwood Lumberman’s Club andthe Pacific Coast Wholesale HardwoodDistributors Assoc.Swaner has been involved in the forest productsindustry for over 60 years. He began hiscareer with E.L. Bruce Co. in Memphis,Tenn., in 1948. He has held his current position for 41 years.At age 75, Swaner received an honorary diploma from HooverHigh School in Glendale, Calif. He received a bachelor’s degree inbusiness from Alderson-Broaddus College in Philippi, W.Va.Swaner received the Silver Beaver, Silver Antelope and Scout ofthe Year awards from the Boy Scouts of America, and the LosAngeles Man of the Year award.Swaner and his wife of 60 years, Beverly, have two children,seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
