Topics include career options,technical vocabulary, dimensional analysis, measurementsystems, engineering graphics, calculatorapplications, professional ethics, safety practices,and other related topics. Upon completion, studentsshould be able to demonstrate an understandingof the basic technologies, prepare drawings andsketches, and perform computations using a scientificcalculator.EGR 130 Engineering Cost Control (2-2-0-3)Prerequisites: MAT 121, MAT 161 or MAT 171Corequisites: NoneThis course covers the management of projects andsystems through the control of costs. Topics includeeconomic analysis of alternatives within budget constraintsand utilization of the time value of moneyapproach. Upon completion, students should be ableto make choices that optimize profits on both shorttermand long-term decisions.
