growing activity of some South-East Asian countries (e.g. Bangladesh) and Oceania (e.g. NewZealand and a number of atoll states) to counter environmental threats seems to be extremelypositive. The analyses, carried out in recent years, of the impact of environmental changes onthe sphere of sustainable development, appear to be particularly valuable researchperspectives. The situation of environmentally-displaced persons is now a critical point in the study ofmigration policies of various states, international refugee law, and international human rightslaw. EDPs are more often seen as a fully autonomous category of internally displaced persons, and therefore distinct from the other types of IDPs. The processes of depoliticization, feminization, economization, and ecologization of contemporary migration face theinternational community with the necessity of far-reaching changes in conceptualizinginternational standards for the protection of migrants. The forecasted nature of climate changealso pushes the international community up against many as yet unprecedented obstacles.Never before in known history have we had to deal with threats such as the immanent loss ofa whole territory following a rise in sea level. The issue of the social consequences of climatechange has also never been as significant as the current issues requiring internationalcooperation. Risks like those mentioned above are facing international organizations with theneed to cooperate when having to take drastic action (both institutional and normative). The present author’s bibliographic guide is a reflection of the very diverse nature of theresearch into environmental determinants for population mobility. Therefore, in thepreparation of this study, the present author tried as far as possible to depict environmentallyinduceddisplacement as a fully autonomous and interdisciplinary category of research. Forthis reason, this review does not refer more broadly to other forms of migration which do nothave a strictly environmental character. Therefore, its subject is neither development-induceddisplacement nor various forms of politically motivated internal displacements. As I mentioned above, this publication does not constitute an exhaustive bibliographic source. The purpose of the adopted system of bibliography is primarily to broadly present researchachievements in this field. The bibliographic system presented in this work (name, initials of
