MIDI FunctionsYou can make detailed adjustments to MIDI settings.MIDI Transmit/Receive Channel SelectionIn any MIDI control setup, the MIDI channels of the transmitting and receiving equipmentmust be matched for proper data transfer.This parameter enables you to specify the channel on which the digital piano transmitsor receives MIDI data.ProcedureSetting the transmit channelWhile holding down the [DEMO/SONG] and [PIANO/VOICE] buttons simultaneously,press one of the C1-E2 keys.Default setting: Channel 1Setting the receive channelWhile holding down the [DEMO/SONG] and [PIANO/VOICE] buttons simultaneously,press one of the C4-F5 keys.Default setting: ALL♯ ♯ E2E5A-1 C 0 C1D 2C4F5Local Control ON/OFF“Local Control” refers to the fact that, normally, the keyboard of this digital piano controlsits internal tone generator, allowing the internal voices to be played directly fromthe keyboard. This situation is “Local Control On,” since the internal tone generator iscontrolled locally by its own keyboard.Local control can be turned OFF, however, so that the keyboard of this digital pianodoes not play the internal voices, but the appropriate MIDI information is still transmittedvia the MIDI OUT connector when notes are played on the keyboard. In this mode,no data is transmitted if thetransmit channel is set to “OFF.”ALL:A “Multi-timbre” Receive modeis available. In this mode, thisinstrument receives differentparts from the connected MIDIdevice on any or all 16 MIDIchannels and plays multi-channelsong data.1+2:A “1+2” Receive mode is available.It allows simultaneousreception on channels 1 and 2only, enabling this instrument toplay 1 and 2 channel song datareceived from a music computeror sequencer.Program change and other likechannel messages received willnot affect this instrument’spanel settings or the notes youplay on the keyboard.Data for the demo song and 50piano preset songs cannot betransmitted via MIDI.CAUTIONWhen Local control is turnedOFF, the keyboard of this instrumentdoes not play the internalvoices.ENGLISHWhile holding down the [DEMO/SONG] and [PIANO/VOICE] buttons simultaneously,press the C6 key.
