ON CCND1 (11q13) / SE 11CCND1 (also named Cyclin D1 or BCL1) is a key cell cycleregulator of the G1 to S phase progression. The bindingof cyclin D1 to cyclin-dependent kinase (CDKs) leads tothe phosphorylation of retinoblastoma protein (pRb),subsequently triggering the release of E2F transcriptionfactors to allow G1 to S phase progression of the cell cycle.Consistent with this function, overexpression of cyclin D1results in a more rapid progression from the G1 to S phasetransition and in a reduced serum dependency in fibroblastcells, characteristics typically seen in cancer cells.Amplification of cyclin D1 plays pivotal roles in thedevelopment of a subset of human cancers includingparathyroid adenoma, breast cancer, colon cancer, lymphoma, melanoma, and prostate cancer. The CCND1 (11q13) specific DNA Probe is optimized todetect copy numbers of the CCND1 gene region at region11q13. The Chromosome 11 Satellite Enumeration (SE11) probe at D11Z1 is included to facilitate chromosomeidentification.Cat.# KBI-10734 CCND1 (11q13) / SE 11D11Z1RH10354711q13CCND1450 KBD11S292711Oncology Probes - Solid TumorsCCDN1 (11q13) / SE 11 probe hybridized to patient interphases/metaphase showing CCDN1 (11q13) amplification with polyploidyfor chromosome 11.Literature:Okami et al, 1999, Oncogene 18; 3541-3545.Freier et al, 2003, Cancer Res; 1179-1182Ordering information Color Tests Cat#ON CCND1 (11q13) / SE 11 red/green 10 KBI-1073462
