e. EvaporatorsThe compartments of the Multi-Temp system areequipped with separate evaporators.For Multi-Temp applications, single discharge anddouble discharge evaporators are available. Theevaporators are different in size, capacity and number offans, but all work on the same principle and use the samesingle-phase 50Hz/60Hz fan assembly. The electricalheaters vary according to the type of condensing unitused and number of compartments. (see Figure 1-11)The evaporator is constructed with aluminiumprofiles designed to meet the specific requirements of thetransport industry. The bottom section of the evaporatoris hinged to allow easy access to both the electrical andrefrigeration hardware. The air outlet profiles aredesigned to adjust to allow different airspeeds andvelocity.Inside the evaporator housing are one or more of thefollowing :240 Volt Single phase backward curved impellerwhich supplies high air volumes at low noise levels;expansion valve; check valve; 12V hot gas solenoid; 12Vliquid line solenoid; 12V water drain heater; electricalheater element; sensor (defrost termination sensor);safety heating thermostat.f. Compartment Control Box (Optional)The compartments of the Multi-Temp system maybeequipped with remote mounted control box (seeFigure 1-10). This control box has a system on/off button,compartment on/off buttons and a manual defrostbutton. The remote mounted control box displays currentcompartment temperature and setpoint.Set setpoint by pressing the up or down arrows asrequired. The control box can be locked (no buttonsactive) by pushingthe Carrier oval once. This will activatethe LED next to the lock picture. To unlock the controlbox press the Carrier oval for 10 seconds. When thecompartment control box is locked the temperaturesetting and manual defrost can still be altered withmicroprocessor panel.Figure 1-10. Compartment Control Box62-028841-10
