If not, you will needto ascertain how activities can be adjusted to streamline the objectivesand the impact.Box 15Tools to measure the impact of a VCA■ Questionnaires submitted at the beginning and at the end of theVCA, to measure changes in attitude towards VCA, the Red CrossRed Crescent, community work or other topics that your NationalSociety thinks are important.■ Interviews with representatives from different groups such as theboard, technical staff, management and volunteers.■ Interviews with focus groups.■ Analysis of quantitative information, such as the number of volunteersover the course of the VCA, number of training sessions, etc. Notethat this type of quantitative data may not tell you what is happeningdifferently (i.e. as a result of the number of people trained).The point is to have specific means of measuring the changes thatVCA has brought about and to ensure that these are well-documented.Such solid evidence will form the basis for implementingchange – and will certainly help in obtaining funds to supportthe programmes and projects resulting from informationgathered during the VCA.
