A judge should exercise care in going to clubs and other social facilities.For example, he or she should be cautious about attending venues run by or formembers of the police force, the anti-corruption agency and the customs and excisedepartment, whose members are likely to appear frequently before the courts. Whilethere is no objection to a judge accepting an occasional invitation to dine at a policemess, it is undesirable for the judge to frequent or become a member of such clubs,or to be a regular user of such facilities. In most societies, it is normal for judges toattend venues organized by the practising legal profession and to mix with advocateson a social basis.88
