Reference. DA Circular 608-06-1, Better Opportunities for Single <strong>Soldier</strong>s Program, 17October 2006.2. Purpose. Intent in implementing this policy is to provide guidance and establish policy forthe BOSS Program. The objective is to establish a working committee of single andunaccompanied <strong>Soldier</strong>s to improve the quality of life for <strong>Soldier</strong>s that provides meaningfulactivities while stationed here at the Academy.3. Background. The BOSS Program supports the chain of command by identifying quality oflife issues and concerns, and by providing recommendations to the chain of command.4. Discussion.a. SLC/ALC 1SGs will appoint primary and alternate BOSS representatives and ensure theirattendance at scheduled BOSS committee meetings. The BOSS Program will be included in allacademy newcomers briefings. BOSS representatives will be given time to participate in localBOSS meetings to solicit ideas and raise issues for presentation at area BOSS committeemeetings. Leaders will support the BOSS program and activities.b. BOSS representative <strong>Soldier</strong>s should be model <strong>Soldier</strong>s with access to the academy’sleadership.
