Our best projects include: SilesianDesign Network (which obtained a title ‘The bestinvestment in a men’ and ‘Leader in implementingregional innovative strategies’), Regional Networkof Promotion and Transfer of Technologies,Revita Silesia dedicated to the issue of revitalizationand Design Silesia promoting design asa tool introducing a change to companiesand a region.The Castle is also using the funds allocated to internationalcooperation which enables preservationand promotion of regional cultural heritage, aswell as participation in the network of internationaldesign centres (project SEE Interreg IV C).Location – how to change fromthe outskirts into a capital city(of design)The factor contributing to the attractivenessof the Castle was also its localisation, i.e. presenceof interesting historic monuments in the neighbourhoodand the vicinity of Polish-Czech border. Theheritage of the Castle Hill shaped by traditionand history puts on us a particular obligationand we are aware of the significance of connectingthe tradition with design.If we take Warsaw for a point of reference, Cieszynmay seem to be at the end of the world, but actuallyfor Warsaw, Prague, Vienna, Bratislava and BudapestCieszyn becomes a centre, which is easyto reach.Therefore, design, cultural tourism, the level of providedservices and information attract not onlyresidents of Cieszyn and visitors from all Poland butin general citizens of Europe. The nice atmosphereof this place is ensured also by the Presso Cafethat has the only in Poland ‘Design alive’ gallery,guest rooms and all week open Tourist Informationoffering tourist publications and souvenirs connectedwith design. The ‘patron’ of all this is a pink fawnwhich is a most eagerly photographed uncrownedsymbol of the Castle.Przedstawiamy się:Pierwsza część kwartalnika, poświeconajest zagadnieniom grafiki użytkowej(2D). Prezentujemy wybrane: plakaty, znakigraficzne, kroje pisma, typografię, opakowania,opracowania wizualnej identyfikacji firm, równieżwybrane elementy reklamy.
