C-36Fig. C2. The inner topography of the Tapanui Crater. The presence of nestled craters (themost distinguishable of which are marked by numbers 1 to 4), each one located inside theother, is visible. This documents that the Tapanui Crater was formed not by one, but byabout seven subsequent explosions occurring in a series. Each of these explosions createda further crater within the boundaries of the previous one. The existence of these innercraters indicates that a cigar-shaped flying complex (shown in Figure F1), consisting ofabout seven Magnocraft-like vehicles, exploded top-down at Tapanui. Symbols: S M /NM -magnetic south/north direction for the year 1178, along which the central axis of theTapanui Crater is most probably aligned; C-C = the main direction of heavy "china stone"deposits (see also the map from Figure C7); T-T = the main direction of the "trinitite"fallouts; E - the "tongue" of the eroded Crater's edge formed by the strong rain falls thatfollowed the Tapanui explosion; H - the hummocks formed by the breaks in shockwaves; R- the cylindrical entry to the Crater that seems to reflect the shape and dimensions of theexploding spacecraft; W - five waves forming the triangular-shaped entry to the Crater(these waves may originate from the interference of explosive shockwaves); L - smallindentations, some transformed into little lakes, formed in the areas where interferingshockwaves mutually reinforced themselves.(Upper) The sketch of the Crater's topography shown as it is seen from above (seealso Figure C1). Notice that the shape of this Crater contains the same elements that aredistinctive of the Tunguska devastation area - see Figure C6.(Lower) The cross-section through the Crater along the axis of explosion: SM-NM.
