Message from the Executive DirectorThe Stó:lō <strong>Nation</strong> FY <strong>2011</strong>-<strong>2012</strong> <strong>Annual</strong> <strong>Report</strong> brieflydescribes the major accomplishments of the organizationin providing a broad range of programs and serviceswhich Stó:lō <strong>Nation</strong> continues to strive to implement. Thereport also includes a brief financial report on how theorganization utilized the funds received for this fiscal year.I am grateful for the continuing support and assistance Ireceive from the Stó:lô <strong>Nation</strong> Chiefs Council (SNCC),Stò:lô <strong>Nation</strong> staff, Stò:lô <strong>Nation</strong> Executive Board (SNEB),the Stó:lô <strong>Nation</strong> Service Delivery Agency (SNSDA)Board, community members, and band staff.As in the past years, we are committed to the continuingprovision of a broad range of programs and services toour member First <strong>Nation</strong>s, as we exp<strong>lo</strong>re our new andemerging role in helping them achieve their potential forself-management in the future.Highlights of our Fiscal Year <strong>2011</strong>-<strong>2012</strong> accomplishments include the fol<strong>lo</strong>wing;• Completion of a new comprehensive Community Health Plan for our eleven (11) Stò:lôcommunities which in-turn, secured a ten-year Flexible Funding Arrangement with HealthCanada to continue delivering the health promotion and prevention programs to thecommunities in transfer;• Continuing consultation and dia<strong>lo</strong>gue with our communities on various healthprograms/service delivery issues and concerns through the Community Engagement Hub(CEH) process, as well as through the newly formed Stò:lô Health Services Committeewhich provides a platform for community involvement and input in the <strong>Nation</strong>’s healthprograms and services;• Formation of a Longhouse Renovation Project committee which held numerous meetingsto determine the timeline and budget for: 1) the tear down of the old Long House andconstruction of a new one with an expected completion date of June <strong>2012</strong>; 2) the upkeepof the Ethnobotanical garden to create a walk way and install a pump for the pond; and 3)the remodeling of Bldg #19 Long House extension program that includes roof repair,expansion of the gift gallery, and an agreement with the School District to provide Fieldtrips for over 1,500 Grade 4 students for the new school year.• The selection and implementation of the new Stò:lô <strong>Nation</strong> Service Delivery Agency[SNSDA] Board whose role is to provide support and assistance to Stò:lô <strong>Nation</strong> staff andmembers for the maintenance and improvement of quality service delivery.
