the NCLB Grant:

Title II Funds Part D $ 1,787 Enhancing Education through Technology
Title III Funds $ 2,860 English Language Acquisition and
Language
Enhancement (Consortium w/Stafford as Lead Agent)
Title IV Funds $ 10,719 Safe and Drug Free Schools and Communities Act
Title V Funds $ 3,529 Innovative Programs
BE IT RESOLVED, that the Barnegat Township Board of Education approve the
submission of the NCLB (No Child Left Behind) Grant and upon approval of said
grant, the Board accept the above funds and that said funds shall be used for the
purposes described in the NCLB Application filed with the New Jersey Department
of Education and be administered and monitored in accordance with appropriate
state and federal regulations.
FURTHER, BE IT RESOLVED that the Barnegat Township Board of Education
approve the distribution of funds for the 2007-2008 school year for the funded
teachers/programs as per the attached budget summary from the NCLB Grant
Application.
13. MOTION TO APPROVE UTILIZATION OF THE ENHANCEMENT
TECHNOLOGY PROGRAM IN LAKEHURST, NJ AND THE
CREATION OF AN ON-SITE VIRTUAL ALTERNATIVE PROGRAM
AS POSSIBLE OPTIONS FOR DEALING WITH ALTERNATIVE
EDUCATION NEEDS.
Motion to approve utilization of the Enhancement Technology Program in
Lakehurst, NJ and the creation of an on-site Virtual Alternative Program
as possible options for dealing with alternative education needs. Approval
of this motion would provide the district with two possible options from
MOESC (Monmouth-Ocean Educational Services Commission) for
dealing with disruptive and disaffected students. Although the need for
such options are not present currently, this motion provides the BOE with
a pro-active approach should the need arise in the future.
In regard to the Enhancement Technology Program at Lakehurst, NJ, this
program encompasses visual learning and credit recovery and is built upon
the framework of the Virtual Learning Activity, a hands-on, technology
infused, problem solving curriculum. In addition, the program is serviced
by a full-time Social Worker, and SAC to infuse a therapeutic, individual
