PRESIDENT’S REMARKS
Mrs. Mitchell: Before we open up to Public Session there are a couple of things I would
like to say to the public. It is just the state of our schools, where I feel that we re going in
the right direction with all the negative things that have been in the press lately. I would
first like to say thank you to each of you who attend these meetings and give us the
valuable feedback that enhances the education of our Township’s children. Now, I would
like to take this opportunity to give you and update on how our district is fairing since
becoming a full K-12 district. Over six years ago we launched a six-year plan to expand
and enrich the education of our students in doing so we brought a strategic and financial
leader to the district in Dr. McMahon. He was a clear choice with his background in
similar undertakings in Plumsted and after serving as Assistant Commissioner of
Education for Finance. Moving forward with his guidance, we as a Board that increasing
academic achievement is this district’s overall goal and this is not going to change.
