is maintained at relatively low levels to ensure a therapeutic and academic
environment geared to the individual students’ needs. The MOESC Board
of Directors approved tuition rate for the 2007-08 school year for nonclassified
students is $17,000.
The Virtual School-based alternative program that will be housed at
EVES (Elizabeth V. Edwards) would allow for a minimum of on-site staff
and provide a broad range of academic levels and components. The
MOESC New Jersey Virtual School is aligned with the NJCC standards,
and is fully staffed by New Jersey certified teachers highly qualified and
more than one-hundred NJ School districts have used this program with
over 5000 New Jersey students. This program could cooperatively engage
an on-site counseling and therapeutic program to meet the students’ needs.
14. MOTION TO APPROVE CHANGE IN THE MISSION STATEMENT
Motion to approve change in the mission statement to now read:
The Barnegat Schools, in partnership with our community, nurture and
educate our children in accordance with all core curriculum content
standards to prepare them for responsible citizenship and success in life.
15. MOTION TO APPROVE PANDEMIC ACTION PLAN AS PART OF
THE DISTRICT’S EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT PLAN
Motion to approve the pandemic action plan as part of the district’s
Emergency Management Plan. This Pandemic Action Plan is a pro-active
step in order to prepare for a health-related emergency, such as the avian
flu, in our schools.

Ms. Tara Weisberger, Full-time Instructional Aide, has not reported for
work this school y ear. Her resignation was put into effect on September
10, 2007.

Mr. Harold Johns, Transportation Driver has submitted his letter of
resignation effective August 22, 2007.
