CAREER DEVELOPMENTStark Student Center, Student Development Suite, 712-279-5455Career Development assists students in developing the skills necessary to make transitionsto their chosen careers, gain valuable work experiences through meaningful internshipprograms, <strong>and</strong> continue their education in graduate or professional schools. CareerDevelopment offers job <strong>and</strong> internship opportunities, résumé uploads <strong>and</strong> electronicportfolios via College Central Network available to students <strong>and</strong> alumni. The office of CareerDevelopment oversees both on-campus <strong>and</strong> off-campus work-study. The office also plans<strong>and</strong> coordinates the offerings <strong>and</strong> opportunities for leadership development by studentsthrough educational <strong>and</strong> training programs rooted in leadership theory <strong>and</strong> practice thatdevelop individual character <strong>and</strong> skills, <strong>and</strong> enrich the campus community <strong>and</strong> all of campuslife.CHARGER DOMEThe Charger Dome, approximately 15 minutes from campus, is the primary practice facilityfor indoor track <strong>and</strong> the secondary practice facility during inclement weather for soccer,football, golf, baseball, softball <strong>and</strong> outdoor track. Additionally, student intramurals <strong>and</strong>one-time student activity events are held in the Charger DomeCONTINUING EDUCATION ENROLLMENTNoonan Hall, First Floor, 712-279-5200Students who are 23 years of age <strong>and</strong> older <strong>and</strong> those interested in the online program areserved through the Office of Continuing Education from their early interest through thecompletion of the enrollment process, including financial aid. The department assists faculty in the design <strong>and</strong>implementation of courses with the right balance of technology <strong>and</strong> methods, which will helpstudents meet their course outcomes. The department also assists faculty <strong>and</strong> students gainthe knowledge <strong>and</strong> skills of learning technologies through training sessions (both virtual <strong>and</strong>classroom), labs, <strong>and</strong> office hours.The success of the iPad program consists of three major components: the iPad itself, theapps used in education, <strong>and</strong> a strong system for course implementation. The EducationTechnology Department is dedicated to improve the iPad program through research <strong>and</strong>training of new <strong>and</strong> existing iPad technologies to help faculty <strong>and</strong> staff achieve success at<strong>Briar</strong> <strong>Cliff</strong> <strong>University</strong>.FACILITY SERVICESMaintenance Building, 712-279-5435The Facility Services Department consists of the Maintenance <strong>and</strong> Custodial Divisions, withemployees who work to maintain a clean, safe, <strong>and</strong> serviceable environment for bothstudents <strong>and</strong> faculty of <strong>Briar</strong> <strong>Cliff</strong> <strong>University</strong>. The goal of the Custodial Division is tomaintain clean common-access areas including bath <strong>and</strong> shower rooms, hallways,classrooms, <strong>and</strong> stairwells.
