The center contains a football locker room <strong>and</strong> storage area, weight room(primarily free weights), a wrestling practice facility, <strong>and</strong> an athletic training room.MULTICULTURAL AND INTERNATIONAL STUDENT PROGRAMSStark Student Center, Student Development Suite, 279-5512The Multicultural <strong>and</strong> International Student Programs office implements programs thateducate the student population <strong>and</strong> campus community regarding issues of culturalunderst<strong>and</strong>ing <strong>and</strong> sensitivity that are relevant in a global society. The programs supportstudent learning, success, <strong>and</strong> retention through individual mentoring <strong>and</strong> advising forstudents of all cultures. The office also plans <strong>and</strong> coordinates the offerings <strong>and</strong> opportunitiesfor American students to study abroad. This office also serves the international populationat BCU.NEWMAN FLANAGAN CENTERThe Newman Flanagan Center offers an indoor facility for athletics <strong>and</strong> recreation. Thecenter has two basketball <strong>and</strong> volleyball courts, four badminton courts, one racquetballcourt, a jogging track, classrooms, <strong>and</strong> offices. All facilities are unavailable when anintercollegiate event is in progress.OFFICE OF THE REGISTRARNoonan Hall, G2, 712-279-5447The Registrar’s Office deals with class registration, grades, graduation, records <strong>and</strong> transfercredits. This office processes transcript requests <strong>and</strong> verifies enrollment. Official academictranscripts are sent from the Registrar’s Office upon written request <strong>and</strong> with clearancefrom student accounts. Transcript fee is $10.RETENTION SERVICESHeelan Hall, 153, 712-279-1770Retention Services: Though academic advisors are the initial contact for students, theCoordinator for Retention Services offers follow-up or additional support to BCU students asthey strive to succeed academically. The Office of Retention Services realizes there are avariety of factors that can affect a student’s academic performance; whether it is apersonal, academic or campus issue, the Office of Retention Services assists each student inovercoming such obstacles by connecting them with appropriate campus resources <strong>and</strong>appropriate BCU faculty <strong>and</strong> administration. This holistic approach empowers students toresolve personal problems <strong>and</strong> participate in creating their own BCU network, allowing eachstudent to perform at his/her full academic potential while creating a unique <strong>and</strong> successfulBCU experience.Though all students are welcome (<strong>and</strong> encouraged) to meet with the Coordinator forRetention Services, any student placed on academic probation are required to meet with theCoordinator.STUDENT ACTIVITIESStark Student Center, Student Development Suite, 712-279-5221Student Activities coordinates opportunities outside the classroom for students to learn,grow, <strong>and</strong> explore their interests socially, culturally, <strong>and</strong> recreationally.
