Students in the HonorsProgram take honors courses which are academically stimulating <strong>and</strong> work closely withfaculty on topics of personal interest to the students <strong>and</strong> faculty alike. They also participatein a variety of social, leadership, service, <strong>and</strong> cultural activities. The International Club also helps tocreate fun <strong>and</strong> educational opportunities to learn about American society withcommunication, events <strong>and</strong> cultural excursions.Advisor: TBDTHE KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUSThe Knights of Columbus is a Catholic men’s group on campus that offers young men anopportunity for spiritual growth, friendship, <strong>and</strong> service both on <strong>and</strong> off the <strong>Briar</strong> <strong>Cliff</strong>campus. The Knights of Columbus are part of a larger national organization whose missionis, “A man is defined by his actions as a follower of God, <strong>and</strong> as a leader in hiscommunity. The Knights of Columbus believe that a man is more than simply a man, whenhe bears the title of ‘Knight’.” On campus the Knights sponsor spiritual growthopportunities, educational programs <strong>and</strong> involvement in justice issues, prayer vigils such as40 Days for <strong>Life</strong>, <strong>and</strong> the Tootsie Roll Drive.Advisor: gil.ridenour@briarcliff.edu, 712/279/5485NURSING STUDENT ASSOCIATION (BCUNSA)<strong>Briar</strong> <strong>Cliff</strong> <strong>University</strong> Nursing Student Association: Chapter of National Student Nurses’Association, Inc. (BCUNSA/NSNA) promotes professional <strong>and</strong> personal development fornursing students. Students have the opportunity to participate in service projects <strong>and</strong> socialevents throughout the year. Membership is automatic for sophomore, junior, <strong>and</strong> seniornursing students.
