Nodocumented <strong>management</strong> strategy for recreational activities exists for the Hillarys Boat Harbour.Management <strong>of</strong> onshore facilities and/or developments is discussed in Section 24.0.Natural areas adjacent to the <strong>Marmion</strong> <strong>Marine</strong> <strong>Park</strong> may be more appropriately managed by CALM.If so, consideration should be given to reserving the land as a conservation reserve (under the LandAct) to be managed as an integrated unit with the <strong>Marine</strong> <strong>Park</strong>. The <strong>management</strong> <strong>of</strong> natural areas inthe Region Scheme is being evaluated by an interagency taskforce convened by CALM. These areasshould be given serious consideration in this study.Actions1. Ensure <strong>management</strong> <strong>of</strong> coastal reserves complements <strong>Park</strong> <strong>management</strong>. Liaise withthe City <strong>of</strong> Stirling, the City <strong>of</strong> Wanneroo, the <strong>Department</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Marine</strong> and Harboursand other relevant agencies on a regular basis, via the Consultative Committee andinformal means.2. Investigate reserving suitable natural areas as conservation reserves to be managedby CALM. Integrate <strong>management</strong> <strong>of</strong> these areas with <strong>management</strong> <strong>of</strong> the existing<strong>Marine</strong> <strong>Park</strong>.21
