Only remove filler cap whencool enough to touch with bare hands.Slowly loosen cap to first stop to relievepressure before removing completely.Test Radiator Cap1. Remove radiator cap and attach to D05104STTester as shown.2. Pressurize cap to following specifications. 1 Gaugeshould hold pressure for 10 seconds within thenormal range if cap is acceptable.SpecificationRadiator Cap—Test Pressure ....................... 70 kPa (0.7 bar (10 psi)If gauge does not hold pressure, replace radiator cap.3. Remove the cap from gauge, turn it 180°, andretest cap. This will verify that the firstmeasurement was accurate.Test Cooling SystemNOTE: Engine should be warmed up to test overallcooling system.1. Allow engine to cool, then carefully remove radiatorcap.2. Fill radiator with coolant to the normal operatinglevel.IMPORTANT: DO NOT apply excessive pressure tocooling system, doing so maydamage radiator and hoses.3. Connect gauge and adapter to radiator filler neck.Pressurize cooling system to the followingspecifications 1 .SpecificationCooling System—Test Pressure ................... 70 kPa (0.7 bar (10 psi)4.
