Cleaning Processes Washing can get things clean enough, ifproperly done. HEPA vacuuming (or equivalent) shouldbe performed before cleaning toremove bulk debris. Something not always recognized is thatit takes time for surfactants (detergentcleaners) to work. Trying to move fasterresults in inferior cleaning. Take the time to do it right the firsttime!
Washing Washing with a surfactant in water is aneffective way of cleaning most surfaces,if done properly. As taught in cleaning courses, cleaningof walls should be started at the bottomand move upward.Washing Rags or sponges should be wrung into adirty-water container. The worker should leave the ‘soapy’water in place long enough for thesurfactant to work. Excess water should be mopped upquickly.
