Attached is your copy of the Saint Louis University Health Professional Letter of Indemnity.
This document sets forth the terms, conditions and limits of medical professional liability
coverage provided to you under the University’s program.
I urge you to take the time to read this document. It details the coverage afforded you and
describes your responsibilities in the event of an incident, claim or lawsuit.
Please note that the University retains responsibility for $1,000,000 in coverage for each and
every occurrence, so it is extremely important that all adverse outcomes be reported to the
General Counsel’s Medical Center Office immediately.
Please note that coverage only applies while you are acting within the scope and course of your
University employment or normal student responsibilities. Any extension of coverage beyond
this must be approved in advance and in writing by me. Extension requests should begin with the
appropriate Department Chairperson and then be forwarded to me.
For the 2009-2010 fiscal year, the Associate General Counsel’s Medical Center Office will again
be using a Web-based procedure for accessing, reading and acknowledging the Health
Professional Letter of Indemnity. Please follow the instructions in the attached email for
accessing the Professional Liability Insurance Information Web Page.
