signs along <strong>the</strong> detour route), traffic control, and o<strong>the</strong>r provisions, throughout <strong>the</strong><br />
Project, as required by <strong>the</strong> Manual <strong>of</strong> Uni<strong>for</strong>m Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD),<br />
and FDOT Roadway and Bridge Standard Index drawing Book. Traffic shall be<br />
maintained according to corresponding typical traffic control details as outlined in<br />
<strong>the</strong> previous noted standards. No street shall be completely blocked, nor<br />
blocked more than one-half at any time, keeping <strong>the</strong> o<strong>the</strong>r one-half open <strong>for</strong><br />
traffic, without specific approval.<br />
� If required by <strong>the</strong> Project Manager, Traffic Division or FDOT or as o<strong>the</strong>rwise<br />
authorized by <strong>the</strong> Project Manager or Consultant, <strong>the</strong> Design-Build Firm shall<br />
make arrangements <strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong> employment <strong>of</strong> uni<strong>for</strong>med <strong>of</strong>f-duty policemen to<br />
maintain and regulate <strong>the</strong> flow <strong>of</strong> traffic through <strong>the</strong> work area. The number <strong>of</strong><br />
men required and <strong>the</strong> number <strong>of</strong> hours on duty necessary <strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong> maintenance<br />
and regulation <strong>of</strong> traffic flow shall be provided by <strong>the</strong> <strong>City</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Miami</strong> Police<br />
Department.<br />
� The Design-Build Firm shall provide all barricades with warning lights, necessary<br />
arrow boards and signs, to warn motorists <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Work throughout <strong>the</strong> Project.<br />
Adequate approved devices shall be erected and maintained by <strong>the</strong> Design-Build<br />
Firm to detour traffic.<br />
� Excavated or o<strong>the</strong>r material stored adjacent to or partially upon a roadway<br />
pavement shall be adequately marked <strong>for</strong> traffic safety at all times. The Design-<br />
Build Firm shall provide necessary access to all adjacent property during<br />
construction.<br />
� The Design-Build Firm shall be responsible <strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong> provision, installation and<br />
maintenance <strong>of</strong> all MOT and safety devices, in accordance with <strong>the</strong> Manual <strong>of</strong><br />
Uni<strong>for</strong>m Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) and FDOT Roadway and Bridge<br />
Standards index drawing book. In addition, <strong>the</strong> Design-Build Firm shall be<br />
responsible <strong>for</strong> providing <strong>the</strong> Project Manager with MOT plans <strong>for</strong> lane closures<br />
and/or detours <strong>for</strong> approval. These plans (sketches) shall be produced, signed<br />
and sealed by a pr<strong>of</strong>essional Engineer registered in <strong>the</strong> State <strong>of</strong> Florida,<br />
employed by <strong>the</strong> Design-Build Firm and certified under FDOT Procedure NPIL<br />
No. 625-010-010.<br />
� Where excavations are to be made in <strong>the</strong> vicinity <strong>of</strong> signalized intersections,<br />
attention is directed to <strong>the</strong> fact that vehicle loop detectors may have been<br />
embedded in <strong>the</strong> pavement. Verify <strong>the</strong>se locations by inspecting <strong>the</strong> site <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />
Work and by contacting <strong>the</strong> Sunshine State One-Call Center (1-800-432-4770),<br />
48 hours prior to any excavation. Any loop detector which is damaged, whe<strong>the</strong>r<br />
shown on <strong>the</strong> Plans or not, shall be repaired or replaced to <strong>the</strong> satisfaction <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />
<strong>Miami</strong> Dade County Signs and Signal Division (305-592-3470).<br />
� Where applicable, <strong>the</strong> Design-Build Firm shall notify <strong>the</strong> Traffic Division 24 hours<br />
in advance <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> construction date or 48 hours in advance <strong>of</strong> construction within<br />
any signalized intersection.<br />
� Temporary pavement will be required over all cuts in pavement areas, and also<br />
where traffic is to be routed over swale or median areas. When <strong>the</strong> temporary<br />
pavement <strong>for</strong> routing traffic is no longer necessary, it shall be removed and <strong>the</strong><br />
swale or median areas restored to <strong>the</strong>ir previous condition.<br />
� Pavement markings damaged during construction shall be remarked, as required<br />
by <strong>the</strong> Traffic Division.<br />
