Field Directive means a written approval <strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong> Design-Build Firm to proceed with<br />

Work requested by <strong>the</strong> <strong>City</strong> or <strong>the</strong> Consultant, which is minor in nature and should not<br />

involve additional cost.<br />

Final Completion means <strong>the</strong> date subsequent to <strong>the</strong> date <strong>of</strong> Substantial Completion at<br />

which time <strong>the</strong> Construction Manager has completed all <strong>the</strong> Work in accordance with <strong>the</strong><br />

Contract as certified by <strong>the</strong> engineer <strong>of</strong> record or <strong>the</strong> <strong>City</strong> and submitted all<br />

documentation required by <strong>the</strong> Contract Documents.<br />

Inspector means an authorized representative <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>City</strong> assigned to make necessary<br />

inspections <strong>of</strong> materials furnished by Design-Build Firm and <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Work per<strong>for</strong>med by<br />

Design-Build Firm.<br />

Notice <strong>of</strong> Award means <strong>the</strong> written letter to <strong>the</strong> Design-Build Firm notify <strong>the</strong> Design-<br />

Build Firm that <strong>the</strong>y have been awarded <strong>the</strong> Contract.<br />

Notice To Proceed means a written letter or directive issued by <strong>the</strong> Director or <strong>design</strong>ee<br />

acknowledging that all conditions precedent have been met and directing that <strong>the</strong><br />

Design-Build Firm may begin Work on <strong>the</strong> Project(s).<br />

Plans and/or Drawings means <strong>the</strong> <strong>of</strong>ficial graphic representations <strong>of</strong> a Project(s).<br />

Pr<strong>of</strong>essional Services means those <strong>services</strong> within <strong>the</strong> scope <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> practice <strong>of</strong><br />

architecture, pr<strong>of</strong>essional engineering, or registered surveying and mapping, as<br />

applicable, as defined by <strong>the</strong> laws <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> State <strong>of</strong> Florida, or those per<strong>for</strong>med by any<br />

architect, pr<strong>of</strong>essional engineer, or registered surveyor or mapper in connection with his<br />

or her pr<strong>of</strong>essional employment or practice. These <strong>services</strong> may be abbreviated herein<br />

as “architectural/ engineering <strong>services</strong>” or “pr<strong>of</strong>essional <strong>services</strong>”, as applicable, which<br />

are within this definition.<br />

Project Or Work as used herein refers to all reasonably necessary and inferable and<br />

necessary construction and <strong>services</strong> required by <strong>the</strong> Contract Documents whe<strong>the</strong>r<br />

completed or partially completed, and includes all o<strong>the</strong>r labor, materials, equipment and<br />

<strong>services</strong> provided or to be provided by <strong>the</strong> Design-Build Firm to fulfill <strong>the</strong> its obligations,<br />

including completion <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> construction in accordance with <strong>the</strong> Drawings and<br />

Specifications. The Work may constitute <strong>the</strong> whole or a part <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Project(s).<br />

Project Manager means <strong>the</strong> individual assigned by CIP to manage <strong>the</strong> Project(s).<br />

Request <strong>for</strong> In<strong>for</strong>mation (RFI) means a request from <strong>the</strong> Design-Build Firm seeking an<br />

interpretation or clarification relative to <strong>the</strong> Contract Documents. The RFI, which shall be<br />

clearly marked RFI, shall clearly and concisely set <strong>for</strong>th <strong>the</strong> issue(s) or item(s) requiring<br />

clarification or interpretation and why <strong>the</strong> response is needed. The RFI must set <strong>for</strong>th<br />

<strong>the</strong> Design-Build Firm‟s interpretation or understanding <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> document(s) in question,<br />

along with <strong>the</strong> reason <strong>for</strong> such understanding.<br />

Risk Administrator means <strong>the</strong> <strong>City</strong>‟s Risk Management Administrator, or <strong>design</strong>ee, or<br />

<strong>the</strong> individual named by <strong>the</strong> <strong>City</strong> Manager to administer matters relating to insurance and<br />

risk <strong>of</strong> loss <strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>City</strong>.<br />

Scope <strong>of</strong> Services or Services means a comprehensive description <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> activities,<br />

tasks, <strong>design</strong> features, objectives, deliverables and milestones required <strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />

completion <strong>of</strong> Project or an assignment with sufficient detail to allow a reasonably<br />

accurate estimation <strong>of</strong> resources necessary <strong>for</strong> its completion.<br />

Subconsultant means a person, firm or corporation having a direct <strong>contract</strong> with <strong>the</strong><br />

Design-Build Firm or <strong>the</strong> prime Architectural Sub-consultant <strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong> purposes <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />

<strong>design</strong> <strong>of</strong> this Project.<br />
