LITERATURE AND DRAWINGSEach bidder shall furnish the following:Literature: The bidder shall have on file with the <strong>Department</strong>, the latest pamphlets,brochures, and printed literature on the equipment the bidder proposes to furnish to thisspecification. Receipt <strong>of</strong> the pamphlets, brochures, and printed literature on theequipment shall precede the sale <strong>of</strong> a school bus built to these specifications.Metal Certification: The manufacturer shall have on file with the <strong>Department</strong>; astatement certifying that the metal used in <strong>Texas</strong> school buses conforms to the NSTS&P.NSTS&P requires galvanized steel to meet the requirements <strong>of</strong> the one thousand (1000)hour salt spray test in accordance with ASTM Standard B 117 and shall not lose morethan ten percent (10%) <strong>of</strong> material by weight. Receipt <strong>of</strong> the letter shall precede thesale <strong>of</strong> a school bus built to these specifications.Isometric Drawings: On request by the <strong>Department</strong>, the manufacturer shall providedetailed isometric drawings <strong>of</strong> the bus body showing floor panels, side posts, ro<strong>of</strong> bows,bow-frames, stringers, longitudinal frame members, exterior panels, and front and rearend framing. Each component shall be identified in block form showing: 1.) The itemnumber, 2.) The type <strong>of</strong> steel or other metal or material with strength at least equivalentto all steel, and 3.) The decimal thickness <strong>of</strong> steel used in the construction.MANUFACTURER’S CERTIFICATE OF ORIGINUpon receipt <strong>of</strong> payment, the vendor shall furnish the ordering school district with theManufacturer’s Certificate <strong>of</strong> Origin which shall include the mileage accrued at the time<strong>of</strong> delivery. The Certificate <strong>of</strong> Title will not meet this requirement. The manufacturer’sNew Vehicle Warranty and major component parts warranties shall be furnished to thereceiving school district.TEMPORARY LICENSE TAGSThe vendor shall issue temporary license tags for each new bus delivered. <strong>School</strong>districts shall contact their local county tax <strong>of</strong>fice to obtain their permanent license tags.A listing <strong>of</strong> county tax <strong>of</strong>fices can be viewed at the following link:http://www.dot.state.tx.us/services/vehicle_titles_and_registration/county_tax_<strong>of</strong>fices/default.htmDELIVERY PROCEDUREThe delivery <strong>of</strong> a bus to any specified destination may be made by any normal deliveryprocedure which the manufacturer or distributor utilizes. The bus body distributor mustguarantee the equipment to be free <strong>of</strong> damage as a result <strong>of</strong> the type <strong>of</strong> delivery. If thebus is damaged prior to or at delivery and if the purchaser accepts the bus, thereceiving copy will denote said damage or omission. If any damage is caused by orduring delivery that can be established within ten (10) working days after delivery toany district, the district must be compensated for such damage by the vendor. It shallbe the obligation and responsibility <strong>of</strong> each body manufacturer to check and inspecteach chassis delivered to the body manufacturer’s plant to ascertain that the chassis isfree <strong>of</strong> any damage that might have occurred as a result <strong>of</strong> the type <strong>of</strong> delivery.Section A-7
