ADDITIONAL INFORMATIONAIR BRAKESNote: For Type C & D (59 - 90 passengers) buses, air brakes are standard thepurchaser may wish to investigate the use of air brakes before changing to conventionalbrakes.COMMUNICATION DEVICENote: For all buses, the purchaser may wish to investigate the possible safety andcommunication merits of the bus driver having the capability to communicate with thedistrict’s management through two-way radio, portable telephone, etc.DIESEL ENGINESNote: Diesel engines are standard for Type A, C, and certain D (15 - 90 passengers)buses. The purchaser may wish to investigate the possible safety, fuel economy, andmaintenance for diesel engines before choosing another power source.DRIVER’S SEAT, AIR RIDE SUSPENSIONNote: For Type C & D buses, the purchaser may wish to investigate the comparativemerits of an improved ride for the driver through the use of an adjustable air ridesuspension seat.FLAT FLOOR FOR WHEELCHAIR BUSESNote: For Type A, C & D buses, the purchaser may wish to investigate the comparativemerits of a flat floor bus for special education needs.FLOOR COVERING, LIGHT REFLECTINGNote: For all buses, the purchaser may wish to investigate the use of floor coverings incolors other than black. Visibility is enhanced through the use of light gray, blue, andgreen. These colors may be obtained at little or no additional cost.FLOOR MOUNTED ACCELERATOR AND/OR BRAKE PEDALNote: If the intended purchase of a larger bus is for extended drive times (route oractivity), the purchaser may wish to investigate floor mounted accelerator and/or brakepedals. Floors mounts provide additional driver comfort and reduce fatigue.
