From the Editor — Special 15th Anniversary Volume, Issue 2qualitative methods. Thus, it provides a revealing snapshot of the current state ofmethods education in public policy programs.Two more articles present an interesting contrast that illuminates some of thenature of the editorial task. Credit for the editorial decision to publish the articleby Ormsby and Williams, which uses an ethics course to analyze how informationliteracy skills may be integrated into existing classes, belongs to former editorsMario Rivera and Nicholas Giannatasio, who accepted the article before JPAEtransitioned to Arizona State University. The old and new shake hands here becausethis article abuts the first piece of a new section I am introducing to the Journal,called “Conversation Starters.” Ryan’s short piece on international immersionprograms launches this intermittent section with a bang, and argues passionatelyfor something that we as a field should think — and talk — about.Last, Mayo’s book review addresses a perennial topic in Public Affairseducation: How do we improve the teaching of statistics? The review ofRohrbaugh’s unconventional-textbook response to this question should proveuseful to all of us who tackle this area.As I write this at the end of March, southern Arizona’s temperatures arealready in the 80s.
